Sometimes I wonder how it is possible that a sensitive girl like Fatima can continue to accept our proposals. I probably think that the poor woman has no other choice and that this is one of the means of livelihood for her that she just can’t escape. And so, as much as we may be sorry for ourselves, all this is still very pleasing and gives us one more reason to find new and more tormenting situations to which to subject the unfortunate woman. In fact, Alice claims that the feet are the most sensitive part of Fatima and therefore she will ask for the help of Isis who, thanks to the latter’s sharp nails, will be able to bring the poor victim to total exasperation.
